The SchoolWorks Lab EdSpeak: Difference Between July 4th and Juneteenth

For A Future Bright, To Which We All Cling

In classrooms where young minds awake,

Echoes a dream, for education’s sake.

In halls of learning, voices ring,

Carrying the legacy of Martin Luther King.

Once he stood, a beacon bright,

In shadows of ignorance, a guiding light.

His words, a symphony, a powerful swing,

Striking chords of change, did Martin Luther King.

“Let freedom ring,” he fervently cried,

In every school, let it not be denied.

For in each young scholar, potential does cling,

A vision shared by Martin Luther King.

Equal desks in rows, opportunity’s seed,

Knowledge the water, erasing ignorance’s weed.

From every mountain top, let us bring,

The dream of justice, of Martin Luther King.

In pages of history, his words resonate,

Calling for education that does not discriminate.

A dream where every child’s heart can sing,

In the harmonious world of Martin Luther King.

Is a step towards equality, a triumph en masse.

For every lesson learned, in every class,

In the spirit of unity, let our school bells ring,

Echoing the wisdom of Martin Luther King.

So teach the young, let their minds expand,

In classrooms of diversity, proudly we stand.

For a future bright, to which we all cling,

Inspired by the legacy of Martin Luther King.
