Pathfinder and Comparison Classrooms

SchoolWorks is developing a pilot relationship with Stanvard educators in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The proposed study would involve two comparable classroom sections—one using Pathfinder and one continuing with existing instructional and assessment practices.

The pilot would investigate whether simple classroom evidence, including short entry and exit activities and regular student work, can help teachers recognize changes in understanding. The initial model will not include a parent portal; records will remain teacher-controlled and subject to an agreed privacy and governance plan.

Current stage: Scope, curriculum, consent and implementation details are being finalized with the school.

Learning Across Contexts

Our India work extends the research into another educational setting and gives SchoolWorks an opportunity to examine one of the most important questions facing any proposed model of learning:

Does it travel?

Ideas about intelligence, evidence, teaching, assessment, and student development cannot simply be assumed to operate identically across cultures.

The India pilot therefore provides an important opportunity to test our assumptions rather than merely export them.

Which assumptions reflect particular educational traditions?

How should the model adapt to local curriculum, teaching practices, technologies, and expectations?

What can educators in different countries learn from one another about recognizing student learning?
