Why Every Student Deserves a Versatile Learning Plan

For decades, schools have worked hard to support students with diverse learning needs.

Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans have provided important legal protections and educational accommodations for millions of children. They have ensured access, protected civil rights, and helped many students succeed.

But what if we asked a different question?

What if every learner deserved an individualized learning plan—not because they have a disability, but because every learner is unique?

The Learning Genome™ is a dynamic, evidence-based profile of how an individual learns, grows, and develops over time. Like a biological genome uniquely describes an organism, the Learning Genome describes the unique educational characteristics of each learner. It is not fixed.
